Empowering Lives Beyond Limits
Our Philosophy
The one who takes action has the solution
As someone who lives with a physical challenge, I am intimately aware of the daily obstacles and limitations that people with disabilities encounter. This personal experience fuels my passion to make a difference in the lives of others through effective nutrition and wellness strategies, aiming to improve not only physical health but also overall quality of life
Our mission

Through nutrition, wellness, health advocacy, and community awareness, we co-create a life where disability isn’t an endpoint — it’s the beginning of a redefined journey
Our vision
One Life. One Place. One Solution.
A world where personal wellness, thriving communities, and purpose-driven careers converge — empowering people of all abilities to heal, connect, and build a healthier, more inclusive future.lthier, more inclusive future.
Hello, and welcome to The Solution Points. My name is SHIVANI, and I am a passionate nutritionist dedicated to making a positive impact in the lives of those around me. But this journey isn’t mine alone—it's one I share with my amazing husband, Vijay. Together, we’ve been through challenges that have shaped us and given us the drive to do something truly meaningful for our community. Both Vijay and I were born healthy. Vijay was 5 years old, and I was 9 months old when we were afflicted with polio. Living typical lives, polio changed the course of our paths. Though the disease affected our physical abilities, it never touched our spirits or our determination. Over the years, we’ve faced many ups and downs, especially with our health, but we’ve always found strength in each other.
Our shared experiences fuelled a vision: to help others live healthier, fuller lives, no matter what challenges they face. As a nutritionist, I see firsthand how essential it is to nourish not only the body but also the soul. Health is about more than just physical well-being—it’s about building a balanced life filled with energy, purpose, and happiness. And together, Vijay and I want to help people find that balance. At The Solution Points, we’re not just offering advice or services—we’re sharing our story, our passion, and our mission to create a healthier, happier community. We believe that no matter where you come from or what you’ve been through, everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy life. And we’re here to help guide you on that journey, just as we’ve navigated our own. Thank you for being part of our story and trusting us to be part of yours. Let’s create lasting change together!
Our Story

The Issue
🌐 The Global Disability and Nutrition Imperative
Disability currently affects approximately 1.3 billion individuals, representing 16% of the global population. The rising prevalence is largely attributed to aging populations and chronic diseases. Unfortunately, individuals with disabilities face significant challenges, including:
A 20-year life expectancy gap compared to their peers without disabilities.
Double the risk of developing diabetes, stroke, obesity, and depression.
Nutrition-related disparities, with 33% to 80% of children with disabilities experiencing feeding difficulties, which significantly heightens their risk of malnutrition.
These disparities arise from systemic failures, such as:
Inaccessible healthcare facilities and pervasive discriminatory attitudes.
Exclusion from preventive nutrition programs and personalized dietary support.
⚠️ Three Critical Phases of Nutrition Vulnerability
Pre-Disability Phase: The At-Risk Population
Approximately 33% of adults aged 65 to 74 exhibit mobility precursors (e.g., chronic pain), with low-income groups facing a fivefold increase in disability risk.
Often dismissed as "normal aging," these individuals experience hospitalization rates that are 30% higher due to unaddressed nutritional deficiencies.
Implementing early mobility screenings alongside protein-rich nutrition programs and adaptive yoga can help delay the onset of disability.
Temporary Disability: The Invisible Crisis
This phase impacts 5% of the global workforce annually due to pregnancy, injuries, or mental health issues.
In the absence of rehabilitation support, 44% of affected individuals develop chronic pain, and 67% experience depression.
Offering tele-nutrition counseling and mental health-integrated “Recovery Packs” can help prevent malnutrition during the recovery process.
Permanent Disability: Lifelong Nutritional Challenges
Among adults over 85, 73% live with permanent disabilities, such as musculoskeletal or neurological conditions.
A depression rate of 43.6% (compared to 13.7% in non-disabled peers), exacerbated by diet-related inflammation.
Fourfold higher preventable hospitalization rates due to inadequate primary care and feeding support.
10.8% face complications from Long COVID with unique nutritional requirements.
Policy gaps - Lack of standardized protocols for feeding difficulties and weak referral systems.
Caregiver training gaps- 86% of programs lack staff trained in disability-specific nutrition.
Stigma & access- Families report exclusion from national nutrition programs (e.g., WIC/SNAP).
Economic strain- Households with disabilities spend 30% more on adaptive cooking tools and therapeutic diets.
💎 Conclusion-
Nutrition plays a crucial role in diminishing health disparities associated with disability. By addressing vulnerabilities throughout various life stages, dismantling systemic barriers, and promoting evidence-based awareness initiatives, we can work towards closing the 20-year mortality gap. Investing in inclusive nutrition is not only a moral imperative but also a vital public health necessity.
